Practice Philosophy
I opened Light of Hope Counseling so that people would have a safe space to go to… A place for them to feel at home; to take off the mask, and to know that they are not alone.
Today could be the beginning of a journey where together we discover peace, direction, and solutions in life’s challenges. Are you feeling worried, sad, or discouraged? Then you are at the right place for whatever situation you are experiencing. Some of my specialties include: helping hurting and confused couples find their way; helping the person who has low self-worth and/or body image discover why they ARE good enough; helping the traumatized client become free from dread and helplessness; and helping those clients who are struggling with spiritual issues and growth find direction through the use of psychology, theology and spiritual formation; plus much much more!
Since there is not a one size fits all approach to counseling, I draw from various treatment techniques to suit your needs effectively. Some approaches that may be used include: cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, trauma focused, attachment theory, EMDR, Christian counseling, and client-centered therapy.
We will create goals and build on your strengths to achieve the personal growth you want to accomplish. Ultimately, you will experience therapy in a warm, non-judgmental, and collaborative environment. Together let’s process your situation and find the resolution and freedom you desire.
